MSFTPSVC error 425
|
|
|
| I've got a Win2k3 server running IIS and ftp service. We have known that
there have been problems connecting to the ftp server for several weeks
now--either connecting or getting data across we think, and were at first
suspecting network issues. But there are no NIC errors and the one computer
that connects to the server isn't even going through any type of WAN, only a
switch and firewall is in between.
So we now have discovered 425 errors in the MSFTPSVC daily logs-- the 425
errors as best I can tell are that it Can't Open a Data Connection and it
occurs in one of two ways. The first is that the user is unable to initiate
a connection ("QUIT" is the keyword in the log) and the second is that the
connection is dropped while transferring data ("Create" is the keyword in
the log.) The vast majority of connection attempts are successful, but on
bad days we have a lot of these 425 errors.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Thanks, Joel

| Arggh... no ideas. these are the common ftp error that sometimes that I have
no clue at all.
but you can try this.
Error message when you use an FTP client to download a large file from an
FTP server: "Connection closed by remote host"
