Help Mozillia and IIS 6.0

Ok--- I have a site that uses custom extensions for a web
app I define the mime types like this .*
application/octet-stream
I have a index.htm page that redirects the user to a
download,htm or activex.htm page depending on the browser
type this works perfect in IIS 5.0 but in 6.0 it trys to
download the file as a wierd string ????
Any ideas----???
