For the first time ever I've encountered
something on the internet that really disturbs me.
I was jumping around on the net and when I
finished I logged off , as usual, and shut down. The
next day when I tried to log on again ----- instead of
my usual browser(Google) I was directed to a browser named
" istarthere ". Now when I log on no matter what I try
I can't get rid of the istarthere browser.
I don't know how any company does this but if its an
indication of what we can expect from just browsing on
the web then I can't see looking forward to some
company automatically changing my choosen browser to
whatever they want.
Is there anything that can be done to stop this ????

hmmm - you are in the wrong newsgroup. This is for IIS Security Issues
(which deals with a piece of server software called IIS).

Also, Google is not a browser - google is a web site (www.google.com), and
is a search engine. Are you saying that your homepage has been changed to
something you don't want? If so, then I suggest you find a group that
specialises in your browser. If you are using IE (Internet Explorer), there
are quite a few IE groups on the MSNews site. Find one that matches the
version of IE you are using.

Cheers
Ken
