IIS 5.0 supports "\" as the default domain so that unqualified user names
can be authenticated using all trusted domains. See
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...NoWebContent=1.

Is this functionality supported in IIS 6.0?

Hi Jason,

So far as I know, the backslash for default domain is not supported in IIS6.0. For the setting, please specify the default domain directly in the IIS
mmc or set the default domain with the adsutil.vbs at command line:
adsutil set W3SVC/<SiteID>/root/DefaultLogonDomain "<domain name>"

By default, the adsutil.vbs is located at C:\inetpub\adminscripts\.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions.

Best Regards,
Wei-Dong Xu
