I keep getting in-undated with Messenger service Pop ups
often advertising Sex etc and it is becomming annoying. I
have tried virtually everything to get rid of them. If I
leave my Pc connected to the internet for any length of
time these pop ups come on over the top of the main
screen, preventing you from doing what you are doing or
worse, you leave your terminal and come back and there are
around 50 or more messages to be cleared off. This is the
worse kind of SPAM and surely it must be illegal
particularly with the subject. so how can I get rid of it

If you are running Windows XP, enable the built-in firewall.

If you are running some other OS, then install a 3rd party firewall and/or
disable the Messenger service

Cheers
