IIS Server Security - network passwords

Need help with network passwords on the internet. I guess
something is configured wrong on my computer, but when I
go onto internet sites that require me to "enter network
password," I cannot save the passwords to be remembered.
I "check" the box that gives me this option, but after
leaving the site and re=entering, I am asked for the
passwords again. How can i get the passwords to stick?
