Our company webserver is running on Windows Server 2003
with connection to the ISP through a Linux box. Users go
out onto the Internet through this server also. Recently
management has observed that a lot of network bandwidth is
expended on web surfing by users during office hours and
therefore it has been decided to implement a control
policy limiting user access to the Internet during
particular hours (break time and after hours). How do one
implement this? Can this be achieved on the Win2003 server
as the ISP is not cooperative enough to do something on
the Linux box? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

You're in the wrong newsgroup. The issue here is not your IIS server, nor
is it your solution.

What you're talking about is a proxy server. The closes things that
Microsoft currently supports are RRAS and IAS. Look up both of those, see
which suits you, and then you can follow up in the appropriate group.

As a general note, you should be aware that either of these services, if
placed on your web server without proper testing and configuration, will
likely cause you some problems with web site availability, Internet routing,
or both. You're essentially talking about using your web server as your
gateway, which is kind of creepy.
