I am running few iis5 member servers. One of the servers
is acting very weird. I have assigned ntfs permission to
the folder. When people try to access this secure folder
thought web browser, for example:
http://domain.com/secure/, the operating system asks for
username and password. To access this folder, I have to
type <server name>/<user name>. Is there any way, I can
access this folder without typing <server name>? My other
servers work fine. On my other servers, I don't have to
type server name.

a) What authentication mechanisms have you enabled?

b) If using Integrated Authentication, then the authentication domain should
default to the local server, so what you want to accomplish should work.
However if you're using Basic or Digest auth, you can manually set a default
domain/realm, which may be different ot the server.

Cheers
