SSL, IIS 6.0 and Windows 2003

| This is my first posting so please pardon my ignorance, however, I am trying
to make a certain html page SSL. I have enabled the security on the page to
require SSL. We do not have a certificate purchased from any provider. I am
just testing this process to see if it will work. Is there some way to get a
free certifcate to import into our IIS 6.0 for testing purposes?
Thanks!

| Hi David,
Sure there is. Tool is called "SelfSSL" and you can find it in IIS 6.0
resource kit. You can download it from here

| Ok, installed it as per instructions. Where does it save the certificate and
how do I import it into my web site? I am using SSL on one page only.
Thanks for the help!

| David,
If you installed it as instructed (by default) then certificate is already
installed on your site. You can view it if you right click on your site and
select Properties. Here select Directory Security tab and View Certificate.
You can also view it if you open MMC and add Certificate Snap-In. In Wizard
select "Computer account". You can see the certificate under Personal ->
Certificates After you finish with the wizard. You can export it if you
right click on certificate and select All Tasks -> Export.
I hope this helps,
Mike
