Hi All,

I have a friend that owns a web hosting company and of course I have a couple of websites on his servers. I am in the process of setting up a couple of shopping carts and need ssl setup. I have been all over the internet for the past couple of months and have not found an answer to our question.

We have seen sites where when you access their secure section the only thing that changes is the https://. They don't redirect to a subdomain or take you to another website. The only thing they changed was in their code they put https instead of http. He doesn't want to setup subdomains for everyone that wants ssl. He just wants the web developers to be able to change their links to https.

In short, how do you setup IIS to accept both http and https simply by changing http to https?

Most of the information I have come accross is how to force ssl on your entire site.

He is running Windows 2000 Advance Server and IIS 5. He has his certificate and has installed it on his website. He just needs to configure IIS so when a request for https is made on his website it is processed through port 443.

I have just stumbled onto your forum and it seems like there are a lot of poeple that have delt with this issue. I hope that someone can point me in the right direction.
