Integrated Windows Authentication broken on IIS 6

| Hi,
NTLM authentication just will not work at all on my server 2003 box.
Basic works fine. I've even tried giving everyone full control on the
files. Nothing. Even with a flat HTML site it still won't work.
The server is on a domain. No other machines on the domain appear to
be exhibiting this behaviour. I can log onto the domain on the
machine. I can talk to other machines on the domain from the machine.
Suggested causes & solutions?
TIA

What does "just will not work" mean? What does happen?

| heh, thought you'd ask that.
In IE (6, on the same sever) I am prompted to login. After entering
valid credentials IE flutters a few times then I get the standard "Page
cannot be displayed".
In firefox I am continually prompted to login no matter how many times
I enter a valid username and password.

Turn off friendly error messages in IE.

Check the IIS logs to try and determine what is failing and with what error
code. Also look in the server System event log.

| IIS seems to return a standard 401.1
Too late. Gave up. Removed IIS completely and re-installed it and it
works fine now. Now just need to re-install MCMS, Sharepoint, etc,
etc.,
