windows 2000 IIS 5 403.6 ip address restriction

| I have a problem with IIS 5.0, My IP address is blocked by IIS server
automatically, when I browse the web page.
I have to go to IIS admin, remove my ip address from the deny list.
DOes anybody know why IIS blocks my IP address?

| IIS does not change IP Restriction settings on its own.
Something is running on your server with Administrative privileges that does
this. Since it is arbitrary code, I have no idea what it is. There's no real
easy way to find out what code is changing configuration without pulling out
the debuggers and symbols.

| I'm guessing someone installed a third party firewall on or in front of the
web server, and it is blocking you. Running www.ethereal.com sniffer on
your workstation, and/or checking your web server logs, may help confirm or
deny this.
