I need help accessing local site on XPPro w IIS
|
|
|
| I have installed IIS on an XP Pro machine within a small LAN. I have
created a Virtual Site but I cannot hit it from machines other than the
host. On the host machine the pages display and work fine, but from other
machines I get "You are authorised to view the page" or "Page cannot be
displayed".
I enabled the "Guest" account on the host and this did not help. I turned
off Windows Firewall and another that was running, still without any
success.
I am relatively new at setting permissions and would appreciate any help. I
believe it is a security setting as the site works fine from the host.
Thanks

| You need to allow "IUSR_<machine name>" in the permissions.

| I see the User_XXXX checked in the Directory Security Tab of the WebSite in
IIS, and I see it listed in the Virtual Site Folder (C:\NTS).
I have tried Permissions Wizard and I get an error about the Parent Node not
being configured correctly, but I have not figured out how to fix this.
Thanks for the response.
