| Hello all, using Windows 2000 pro and IIS 5. What I would like to do is set
up an error message so when someone clicks on a link that begins with https
they would be directed to a page I have made that states that this page is
not available at this time, try again later.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

| Is the https link to your IIS5 server or some other server?
If it is an https link to your IIS5 server that you want to send a custom
error message, then you must set up a SSL server certificate in IIS to be
able to receive https traffic to then send that custom error page. You must
have a SSL server certificate because all web servers need such a
certificate to conduct legitimate https communications.

| Hi David,
I did have a certificate but was changing our business name and had to
delete the certificate off until the new one came (windows 2000
professional, not server 2000 or 2003). I was trying to get around changing
all the links to the https to an error page. I no longer have to worry as
the security certificate come though and is again installed on my server.
Thank you for your response.
