| Hello All
I set a window authentication + permission for an active dir user in my
extranet.
os w2003r2 iis6
Everything work fine but today I received many feedbacks about firefox 1.5
and ie5.5, still not working! Do I have to set something in iis6 or is a
client problem?
I tested from out with two different firefox 1.5.7 and they work fine, the
logIn is working...about ie5.5 I think is old but they cannot upgrade
because is on a win nt4.......
Any suggestion? please help me!
Bye

| Windows Authentication likely does not work in an Extranet scenario
because it is a connection-based protocol. Users may be behind
non-compatible proxies which prevent it from working. Thus, the
"problem" will be reported by people behind incompatible proxies but
simultaneously be working for others that have compatible
connection-based semantics.
So, I do not believe the problem has to do with Firefox nor IE
versions. You have already shown that yourself, too.
What you need to do is use an authentication scheme that works in an
Extranet scenario. NTLM is definitely not the right choice. The right
choice depends on your usage criteria
