Hi
We maintain our own web site www.strategic.eu.com
We wish to access Analysis Services on another server - not the web server -
called blade
I have been able to allow access to cubes using Pivot Table Services in
Excel by placing the msaolap.asp file in the wwwroot folder on blade itself
(it also has IIS running) and we can now access cubes in our local network by
entering http://blade as the server name.
I have copied the msolap.asp file to our web server's wwwroot folder,
however when i try http://blade.strategic.eu.com as the server in Pivot Table
Services it cannot find the server.
I cannot see anything in Internet Explorer by entering
http://blade.strategic.eu.com or even https://blade.strategic.eu.com - is
there something i should be doing on the web server to allow it to recognise
blade.strategic.eu.com ?
Our Analysis Server is Windows 2000, our web server SBS 2003

Kind Regards,
Richard

You should check your dns records. You are probably missing host record (or
alias) for your new web site.

Also, for security reasons, you should never post your real config in news
groups.
If you have to say that you have putted some file somewhere in wwwroot or
elsewhere on your public web server, you should not say the real url.
