Help Needed

Hi,

I hosted our web site in windows 2003 (a small business web site developed
in asp.net). I installed SMTP Virutal Server and POP3 Component of Win 2003
OS and configured with some mail boxes. Everything is working but my queue
folder is filled with thousands of spam mails every day. How to stop this
open relay. If I disable 'Anonymous access' check box (from IIS SMTP Virtual
Server/properties/access/Authentication) another users (from gmail or yahoo)
are not able to sent mails.

Please help me in this SMTP Virtual Server configuration.

Thanks in advance
Dave

you don't want to disable anonymous access... you want to disable relaying
for anyone outside your network. in the smtp server properties, access tab,
press the relay button, and set a rule that only allows your lan users to
relay. this won't stop you from receiving email, but it will stop you from
acting as an open relay and sending the rest of us spam.
