Hello,
i have to install an IAs server for radius authentication but i need some
information.
The plan is that our engineers dial in to the internet, authenticate via
radius and connect over VPN to our network.
Must the server where i install IAS be a member of the domain? Should i
place the server in the DMZ? HAve i to install RAS on the Server?
MAny questions, doe´s anybody know a good site where i cann get some
information ?
Thanks,

Jens

You will find a lot of information here
http://www.microsoft.com/windows200...unications/ias/

To answer some of your questions, IAS will need to be on a machine which
is joined to the domain if you need to authenicate users who are a part of
the domain. If you need to authenticate local users (using the SAM database)
it does not need to be a part of the domain. RAS can be installed on the
same machine or a different machine and it can be configured to autenticate
using the local IAS ("windows authentication") or suitably send requests to
a remote IAS server ("RADIUS authentication").

Thanks, Manju
