Author duplicate emails

As with you, Lance and Brendan, I am also having
duplicate e-mail messages sent to recipients. Ours are
happening within DLs that were converted from 5.5 to
2000. I can find no real reference in KB articles and
have posted numerous requests on the message boards, but
have received no response yet.

The closest thing I found was a reference about duplicate
detection in the Information Store. It seems that "if
the recipient is a contacy or Exchange Server 5.5
mailbox, the recipient always received duplicate mail"
because the Instance ID is not copied over by the store
when the categorizer "bifurcates" a message. This taken
from KB 269408. Do you guys think this article is on the
right track?

I've had only one person yell at me for duplicates, but I
believe there to be more. This is just one of many
problems I've encountered since my conversion. I don't
know what to do anymore or even where to turn.
