Hi,

Can someone tell me what might cause multiple emails (thousands in a few hours) to go out to a Smart Host (Linux server) that would be configuration or service pack related? I have been running the same web ASP apps for over 2 years without a problem on
Win2K. SP3 has been installed for many months. I rebuilt the Win2K OS, installed SP3 and the web site, on a new server. When web page related emails were submitted the Smart Host was bombarded with the same email from the local SMTP host thousands of
times. It should only be receiving one email but something is running 'open loop'. When the SMTP service was disabled this 'spamming' stopped.
