| I think I know what you are saying... First (in the=20
server's properties, access tab, Authentication button),=20
check both Anonymous access, *and* Basic Authentication.=20
The basic authentication allows your email users to send=20
using SMTP. The anonymous access allows other SMTP servers=20
to connect and drop email for your users. (You can also=20
set TLS, or Integrated Widnows... too)
Then, in Relay REstrictions, select the 'only the list=20
below'. The list can (and usually is) empty. Then=20
check 'allow all computers which have successfully=20
authenticate to relay'
Your users are able to authenticate, so they can send to=20
outside the system, but no one who is not one of your=20
users can (we hope...) authenticate so they can't send=20
outside your domain. The only thing that you are not=20
protected from is a spam attack aimed at your own users,=20
since these don't use the relay rules.
And if I've missed, someone will jump in (on me!) and=20
correct whatever I've missed.
