Author Sending SMTP email from Exchange 2000 receive NDR #5.7.1

Over the past few days pur Exchange 2000 server has
decided to stop sending SMTP email to various offsite
addressees.

As far as I can tell there have been no changes to the
Exchange Server's configuration - because I am the
Exchange administrator.

The clients which are getting responses back from teh
Exchange server are using various Windows OS (98 n
higher) with a variety of Outlook clients.

None of the client systems that have XP Professional and
Office 2003 are experiencing this problem, so far.

The Exchange server does not send the SMTP mail but is
forwarding it to an SMTP mail provider offsite.

I have combed the support sites for Windows 2000 server,
Exchange 2000 and Outlook and found nothing tangible to
help with this. The personnel here who are experienceing
this are severly impacted. Any and all help is greatly
appreciated!!

Which server is returning the 5.7.1 (should say in the NDR)? Is it Exchange
or another server?

The response received at the sending client follows:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended
recipients.

Subject: boooooooy

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

It appears the local system is the respondent to the
email. No configuration chanes have been made in several
months - approxmately a year!
Really appreciate your time and help...

It looks to me as if your domain or IP has been
blacklisted on those servers. Blacklisting is usually
based on one of the services receiving complaints that
your server was used to send spam, or that you (were)
running an open relay.

You may want to check with the various anti-spam sites
that support and manage these lists.
