I created the newsfeed under the NNTP virtual server.
The event log has events indicating my server connects to
the news server and I have checked with the technical
staff to ensure I was using the correct user ID and
password. I have also adjusted my firewall to allow
access for NNTP. But I still get and Event ID 90 "The
virtual server 1 has completed and active feed from/to
news.e-mds.com, Status is FAILURE. Any ideas? Am I
missing something

You might want to turn up NNTP protocol logging or better yet get a network
trace of the NNTP traffic. Then you can see the actual NNTP conversation and
see at what point in the conversation it fails. This should give you clues
as to why it's failing.
