| I would start by having a look at
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...KB;EN-US;816121 which
describes how to setup IIS's smtp service. In one part of the article it
describes how to configure IIS to send all outgoing mail to a smarthost
(such as your ISP which would then do the DNS lookup and actually deliver
directly to the remote SMTP host). However if your IIS server can resolve
external DNS records you can avoid this step and your IIS server can send
directly to remote SMTP hosts. If you follow the article's advices on
setting up the smtp virtual server to allow relay then all you have to do on
the Outlook client end is point everyone to the IP address of your SMTP
server.
