| Hi,
I am using SMTP with IIS 5.0 on w2k advanced server. I am only interested in sending emails.
I have configure my SMTP (hopefully right). I also have
PTR record in my DNS zone. My domain is actiavted. But when i try to send email, no email goes, and I get this error in Event viewer log file
Event ID 4000
source SMTPSVC
Description:
Message delivery to the remote domain 'hotmail.com' failed for the following reason: Unable to bind to the destination server in DNS.
I am quite new to SMTP and emailing, you assisiatnce will be greatly appreciated.

Is it just Hotmail ? There are lots of problems with connecting to hotmail,
but not a lot of solutions.

I came across that problem with Windows Server 2003. I found out it was
in my Relay Restrictions. I had to uncheck the check mark box that said:
Allow all computers which successfully authenicate to relay, regardless
of the list above. Note IIS6 differs from IIS5.
