Author How to determine the status of each message in the SMTP queue?

Hello,

I have Windows 2003 Server with IIS and SMTP services. Most of the
time, mail gets delivered slooooowly resulting in a queue buildup.
Queue buildup can be severe to the point that it takes more than 5
hours to deliver a piece of mail to the SmartHost. This queue build
up is a big headache and there is no tool to help admin determine
what's going on, why it is happening, etc.

Question:
---------
Is there a utility to determine the status of each and every mail
sitting in the queue so email admins can figure out in an _instant_
the cause of the queue buildup?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Regards,
Ann
