Help setting up smtp

| Good morning,
I'm trying to setup a w2kpro as a smtp server. Our e-mail is being hosted by
our isp and due to a machine that scans all traffic going in and out of the
network, we are experiencing timeout issues when we try to send e-mail w/
attachments over 1 mb. The timeout is on the server side. The vendor of the
box that does the scanning told us that we need to setup a smtp server
inside the network. I have IIS w/ smtp installed on a w2kpro box, the
service started and accepted the default configuration. What else would I
need to do to get this to relay mail out of our internal network.
More details:
We're using private ip addresses inside a firewall.

You'll need to provide connectivity for port 25 through your firewall.
That means address translation from an external IP to your internal
one as well. Beyond that, a MX record in your DNS for the domain and
you're good to go.

| Hi Jeff,
We do have port 25 open and nat setup on the f/w. When I set my client to
use the ip address of the 'new' smtp server, I get the message that the
service failed. I checked that the service was started and also restarted
the service just in case. No go. Any ideas?
