Author sending mail from one internal domain to another

Hi,
I think my problem is router or gateway related but want
to get some input.
I have created a separate mail system for special outgoing
emails. My regular email is Domain.com and the new email
system is Domain.net.
My SMTP for domain.net sits in a DMZ. The domain.com is
not in the DMZ.
MX appears fine, I can send mail no problem. I use a
program that will take replies from the Domain.net and
send them to the .com recipient. I can deliver to the
reply recipient if it is external but can't seem to get it
to deliver to my .com address. It will just sit in the
queue folder.
Can anyone recommend any suggestions on what I would need
to get this mail delivered internally?
Thanks so much.
JO
