Hi,

OK, I spend a extravagant week to get this mail thing going. Result: One
spammer relayed about half a million emails and lots of errors, I cannot get
resolved:

I have W2k3 Web Editon and want a standard setup allowing authenticated
users to relay emails to any address and receive emails from any address to
the ones hosted on my server. This is a very standard configuration and
should be set up in 10 minutes!

My test is, to send two emails out, one via my SMTP server and one via an
external SMTP server with another provider. Both emails are sent to
'ck@MyExternal.com' and 'ck@MyDomain.com'

When I sent this emails, I can access my SMTP server but they never reach
the external SMTP server:

This is the error my SMTP server sends out to the external SMTP server for a
mail delivery failure:

Reporting-MTA: dns;mail.MyDomain.com
Received-From-MTA: dns;relay.pair.com
Arrival-Date: Wed, 19 May 2004 03:26:58 +0000

Final-Recipient: rfc822;ck@MyDomain.com
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0

And this is the error I get back from my SMTP server trying to send the
email.

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: Test From Internal SMTP Server
Sent: 19/05/2004 11:27

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'ck@MyExternal.com' on 19/05/2004 11:27
k@MyDomain.com

'ck@MyDomain.com' on 19/05/2004 11:27
500 error

POP3 Service is set up and running. Attached the SMTP section of the
metabase.xml document.

I am very grateful for any help on this.

Christian

PS: My most expensive nokia phone is hanging now after trying to open an
SMS. Why are we spending money on such products?
