Where do I find the Exchange System Attendant Tool?
|
|
|
| I cannot configure the SMTP service via IIS manager anymore. Supposedly the Exchange System Attendant Tool is now used to configure this service. First, is this true. Second, where do I find this utility?

| Hi,
Before installing a complex piece of software like Exchange, you should read
the manual, so that:
a) you don't misconfigure it and screw up your entire exchange store
b) you don't get hacked/compromised by malicious outsiders.
The Exchange System Manager (assuming Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003) is by
default located in a folder called "Microsoft Exchange" in your Program
Group:
Start -> Programs -> Microsoft Exchange -> System Manager
It will only be there if you choose to install the Exchange Client Tools
during setup.
Cheers

What is this word, "manual".. I remember such a thing, but that was 15
years ago..
When I bought exchange, all I got was a website link, and a cd in a sleeve!

| There should be a manual on your CD.
Otherwise, you can access a whole host of resources here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pr...ry/default.mspx
Down the bottom, there is a link to download the manual that is on the CD.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
