Cannot Delete SMTP Virtual Server in Exchange 2003

| We have a corrupted SMTP virtual server on our Windows 2003/Exchange 2003 system that cannot be deleted using the administrator program. I can create and delete additional virtual servers, but this one cannot be deleted. Until I delete it I cannot run the
Internet Mail wizard. Any idea how to make it go away? I've tried lots of manual workarounds, but I cannot get the system to send mail at this point. It can receive without any trouble.

| How do you know that it's corrupt? Is it the default virtual server?
Cheers
