Author Internet header rewriting

On our internet mailgateway (Mirapoint) we do add X-
records to header of incoming mails to identify spam. The
mailgateway delivers to our mailhub (which is based on
Exchange 5.5). From here the mails are sent to the mailbox
servers.
If the mailbox resides on Exchange 5.5 the X-records are
present in the header. Mailboxes on Exchange 2000 servers
do not see the additional header entries, but instead they
see rewritten headers.
It seems that Exchange2000 rewrites the headers with some
default values and removes additional entries. This
happens to HTML and plain-text messages.
How can I reconfigure Exchange 2000 to not rewrite the
Internet headers.

Thanks in advance,
Frank
