Hi,
I am trying to setup a Web server and Mail server (POP3, not exchange) with Windows 2003. The web server is running fine, but I am unable to have my mail server work properly (I can logon to the server (even from outside the firewall) but it does not rece
ive any email).

Here is my detailed configuration:
-My domain is registered with register.com : thierrypoitras.com
-My DNS servers are with them.
-I have mail.thierrypoitras.com pointing to my IP address
-I have my MX settings to mail.thierrypoitras.com on Hi priority

Can you help?
THANKS!!
Kevin

You may want to try uninstalling IIS and POP and reinstalling (with a reboot
in between). Yeah, I know - it sounds phoney, but I have set up 3 systems
and had to do this on 2 of them. They could send, but not receive.

Also - just do a search on everything under c:\inetpub\mailroot for all
*.eml or *.bad files. If you see any, then you are getting the e-mails, but
(?possibly?) POP isn't dropping the mails into the right mailbox (...seen
this one too...).

Hope this helps - good luck.

Are you sure it does not receive any emails? Can it be that the SMTP server
does receive emails, but they are not delivered to the mailbox for the user?

Can you please check the Drop folder for the emails? Can you find the emails
there? If so, then see here:

If you cannot find the emails in this folder, then what is the email you get
back when you try to send to your domain?

Thanks, it is very apreciated! but after many hours spent on this, it was the MTU setting of the router which was not properly set.
