John,

just send a testmail.

The smtp Server is smart enough not to sequentially go through all the
"bad" mail!

All that happens with all that stuff sitting in your queue is to
increase file system processing and slowing down the machine some.

Reducing the delivery timeout on a production system is not a good idea.

One other thing:

If the smtp server is part of your exchange server You might consider
the option of forcing an smtp protocol error instead of a non delivery
notification...
