| I am not familiar with "Masquerade field". Would appreciate if anyone can
guide me.
Eg. my company internet domain is 'lala.com.au' & internal network domain is
'staff.lala.net' .
What should i enter in the Masquerade field?
Basically, i do not want my internal server, domain name & ip addresses been
shown on the mail headers from sent out to internet.

For your convenience, I include the detail steps below:
- Open IIS Manager console.
- Right click Default SMTP virtual server and click Properties.
- Click Delivery-> Advanced.
- Type domain.com in the Masquerade domain section.
- Restart SMTP virtual server to take effect.
Also some times you may need to hide the internal server information, you
also can change the "Fully-qualified domain name" section by the following
steps:
- Open IIS Manager console.
- Right click Default SMTP virtual server and click Properties.
- Click Delivery-> Advanced.
- Type the FQDN you want to display in the header.
- Restart SMTP virtual server to take effect.

| How do you send the mail ? from what I read. the masquerade domain will be
in the from: field, when user are trying to relay the mail server via telnet
(with the name 'testsender'). It however will not affect mails that have
full email address (testsender@testing.com) from the from: field

| Sorry, i don't really understand what you mean!
I used my Outlook 2003 to send mails, basically click "New", then type the
email address (cmchong20@yahoo.com) in the "To:" feild and sent. That's it!

| Ok. can you post a sample of the mail header that exhibit internal network
information.
Most likely you can strip these info via smtp, some firewalls like
checkpoint does support smtp header replacement.

| I don't think you will be able to strip off this internal header with the
help of IIS SMTP server. Some mailgateway or firewall I mentioned in
previous post does it.
Here's one example of a hotmail I got:
Received: from mc3-f17.hotmail.com ([64.4.50.153]) by imc1-s19.hotmail.com
with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.211); Fri, 4 Feb 2005 01:04:36 -0800
Received: from smtp15.sms.ac ([209.126.222.65]) by mc3-f17.hotmail.com with
Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.211); Fri, 4 Feb 2005 01:04:31 -0800
Received: from ws12 (unknown [10.1.4.112])by smtp15.sms.ac (Postfix) with
ESMTP id 57B9233FA0for <blabla@hotmail.com>; Fri, 4 Feb 2005 04:02:11 -0500
(EST)
Received: from mail pickup service by ws12 with Microsoft SMTPSVC; Fri, 4
Feb 2005 01:04:30 -0800
As you notice, I can see the internal host (ws12) of sms.ac
