Author smtp problem

2005-07-09, 5:49 pm

Hi all, I have a smtp server on a 2003 sp1 box. I am trying to send email to
one of my domains that has 2 mx records in dns with priorities of 10 & 20.
The record for 10 is valid, whereas the record for 20 is not. I have tested
this by sending an email from hotmail and receiving it correctly. Now for
some reason the 2003 sp1 smtp server logs an event in the event log stating
it cannot connect with the remote domain and gives the ip address for the
record with priority 20. Any ideas? I thought it should use the lower
priority record.

thanks
