Hi,

I have a domain say "mydomain.com" with a mail server running on a server
"myserver". To test my server I sent emails from my hotmail account to user
"user1". If I send the email to user1@myserver.mydomain.com I can see the
email in user1's mailbox, but if I send the email to user1@mydomain.com, the
email gets lost. No trace for it neither in my hotmail account nor in
user1's mailbox. I have a DNS record for mydomain.com I also have an MX
record for myserver.mydomain.com. Why is this happening? What should I be
looking at to find the solution? Thanks.

You should have a MX for mydomain.com that point to myserver.mydomain.com
This way, both are working
