| My Exchange Server 2003 SP2 (on W2K3 Server SP1) is working fine.
However, I had to remove/reinstall IIS 6.0 after an issue withOWA.
And now, I have my event log populated with this warning every 15 minutes:
----------
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeMU
Event Category: General
Event ID: 1040
Date: 5/25/2006
Time: 11:10:14 AM
User: N/A
Computer: ATLANTA
Description:
Metabase Update failed replication 5 times with error 80070003 (The system
cannot find the path specified.). Please change the diagnostic logging level
of MSExchangeMU to 'minimum' or greater to find the source of the problem.
For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.
----------
I did turn the Diagnostics Logging in Exchange, but I only get informations
such as:
----------
Event Type: Information
Event Source: MSExchangeMU
Event Category: General
Event ID: 1005
Date: 5/25/2006
Time: 10:00:04 PM
User: N/A
Computer: ATLANTA
Description:
Modified identifier MD_AUTHORIZATION on metabase key with path
/LM/W3SVC/1/root/Exchange.
For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.
-------------
Not very useful...
Any idea? Do I need to go again with the whole process of
removing/reinstalling IIS 6.0?
Help appreciated...

| Did you reinstall Exchange after IIS? I would highly recommend that you do
this in fact I'm surprised Exchange isn't broken.

| Thanks Leif,
In fact, I was a bit quick. I didn't mean unistall/reinstall IIS, but simply
reset the default virtual directories that are required to provide Outlook
Web Access, Exchange ActiveSync, and Outlook Mobile Access services in
Exchange Server 2003 - which is not quite the same thing...
I am sorry for the misunderstanding - but thanks for the link on
reinstalling Exchange which could be quite useful...
Regards
Nicolas
