Author Do I need more than one virtual SMTP server for email for multiple domains?

I have one static IP mapped to a server hosting 2 domains (eg, domain1.com and domain2.com)

I want to use the Server 2003 POP3 service w/ IIS SMTP to provide email services for both domains. I've set up the POP3 service for the multiple domains already and set up some mailboxes.

But I'm confused as to how many Virtual SMTP Servers I need.

Do I enter both domains under the Default Virtual SMTP Server in IIS and have all my users use that one server? Or do I need to make a new one and use one virtual server for each domain? Apparently if I chose the latter route i need to use another port other than 25 in conjunction w/ my static IP since each virtual server needs a unique IP-port pair??

I see that each virtual SMTP server can only have one default domain.

It is imperative for me that the users of domain1.com will have user@domain1.com appear in their FROM: field, and likewise users of domain2.com must have the domain2.com domain appearing in the FROM: fields of the emails they send.

Can someone tell me what I need to do?

Enter both domains under the default Virtual SMTP server.

This is both true, and unworkable for receiving email, IMHO.

They can have as many domains as you desire. I've one setup here with
four domains. Worsk just fine.
