Detecting SMTP Service Status
|
|
|
| Howdy,
I'm having a problem with the automatic updating of the MS Intelligent
Filter causing my SMTP service to stop. A manual restart of the service
fails, as well. Our only resolution has been to restart the server. Anybody
heard of this?
Anyhow, I'm looking to setup a means to detect the failure so that I may be
more reactive. Is there a command line option to determine the status of a
service? I'm looking to have a script identify that the SMTP service has
failed and then page me. I appreciate any insight.
Thank you,
Jer

| I'm not sure why IMF would be causing an issue. I would check in an
Exchange newsgroups for assistance. As far as monitoring, there are several
products to do this. Hope that helps.
