| Hi,
I am having a problem with Exchange Server 2003 SP2 with the IIS Admin
Service. About once every week it stops for no logical reason and does not
restart, even though the recovery tab is set to automatically restart the
service. The information in the event logs as follows
Faulting application inetinfo.exe, version 6.0.3790.3959, faulting module
libspamhunter.dll, version 6.0.4.174, fault address 0x000027a5.
0000: 41 70 70 6c 69 63 61 74 Applicat
0008: 69 6f 6e 20 46 61 69 6c ion Fail
0010: 75 72 65 20 20 69 6e 65 ure ine
0018: 74 69 6e 66 6f 2e 65 78 tinfo.ex
0020: 65 20 36 2e 30 2e 33 37 e 6.0.37

0038: 61 6d 68 75 6e 74 65 72 amhunter
0040: 2e 64 6c 6c 20 36 2e 30 .dll 6.0
0048: 2e 34 2e 31 37 34 20 61 .4.174 a
0050: 74 20 6f 66 66 73 65 74 t offset
0058: 20 30 30 30 30 32 37 61 000027a
0060: 35 5
Very similar issue also ocasionally occurs with the following
Exchange Server Information Store
Exchange Server MTA Stacks
Exchange Server System Attendant
This is a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 with Service Pack 2 installed on a
Domain Controller Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (R1). It is not the
FSMO Domain controller. Its only job is to host exchange and Symantec
Antivirus Corporate with SMSMSE

Frustrating though this may be, this crash is in your Symantec add-in.
Standard troubleshooting practice would be to disable this non-standard
service.
Also, if you're seeing crashes across components like the IS, the SA, etc.
this question would be better posted to the Exchange newsgroups, as
opposed to the IIS/SMTP side of things.

| I had the EXACT same issue....
I contacted Symantec and they directed me to an FTP site and downloaded
SMSME 5.06.368
This resolved the issue.
What I find interesting is this update is NOT available through FileConnect.
You must contact Symantec and get a 1-day FTP account and download.
Good Luck!
