| hi there...
was wondering do we need to "capture" a particular pdf document before the
ifilter could actually search for words in it? this is because i have found
that documents that cant have their contents highlighted., cant be searched.
Only once a "capture" is done, then the contents can be highlighted and only
then the ifilter can work against the particular document.
is this behaviour normal? is it possible for us to search for pdf documents
without running "capture" first?
thanks....
cheers!

| exactly what do you mean by capture.
I have been able to index and search pdf's without resorting to this.

| what i meant was that if yoiu do not run "paper capture" that is a function
in adobe acrobat, against the particular doc, then the doc is a mere image
and you cannot highlight the words there.....
it only gets highlighted once this function is done...
