Looking for information on programatically accessing the Indxserver

| Hello;
i'm wondering if any one can point me to the information i need. I am looking for information on how to query the indexserver. i want to be able to do a free text search on a few directories with stored documents. i would like to be able to query the inde
x server and post to a web page. can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks for any help.

| we are using a Windows 2000 server i assume it would be IIS 5.0

sort of. Indexing Services can be accessed via ASP, which is part of IIS5.
Can you give me a benchmark on how much you know?
For instance have you looked up 'ixsso' on the MSKB?
