PDF and Index server?
|
|

| Staff,
I am trying work Index Server with archives pdf.
Already installed the IFilter of the Adobe, but it does not worked. Already
I entered in the Regedit and I followed the instructions of the Microsoft
and also it does not worked. They see query that I made
Select DocTitle,Filename,Size,PATH,URL from SCOPE() where FREETEXT('" +
txtPesquisa.Text + "')
Does any one experience same problem?
Does any one knows a solution?
Tks,
Daniel - BRASIL

| I had a similar problem some month ago.
Are you sure that your pdf files are "real" pdf files, and not only tiff
encapsulated pdf ?
I mean, some pdfs files are only tiff converted to pdf, and it's not
possible to extract text from these pdfs therefore I think.
If you're able to select some text with the "text tool" in Acrobat Reader,
your pdfs files are fine, and the problem is elsewhere.
See you

| Hello,
there is a known problem with Adobe PDF ifilter and
Windows XP. What is your OS? In XP you need to change some
registry settings to make it work...

| Try this out.
1.Expand the catalog.
2.Select Directories on the left pane
3.Right click the directory on the right pane
4.select all task --> rescan(full)
This should resolve the issue!!
enjoy......
