| it is available. Start, settings, control panel, administrative tools,
services, and check to see if there is a service called indexing services -
this is its new name. Ensure it is started and running automatically.
Check out this kb article to tune performance - you must do this if you want
to use it for production/development/test.

If indexing services is not in the services applet, go to start, control
panel, add remove programs, add remove windows components, and ensure that
indexing services is checked. Click on all defaults.
