Hi I'm a newbe

I'm using the
NET SDK sample query.idq, query.htm etc.

I have a catalog "System" stored at c:\inetpub\catalog.cwi (it contains txt
documents)

Query.idq was amended to the following:
CiTemplate=/%TemplateName%.htx
CiCatalog=system
After having typed the word "chapter" in the search for at
http://localhost/query.htm
Returns:

http://localhost/query.idq?Original...yForm=query.htm

HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.

Which file might that be?
Because query.idq and all the other files of the IISample is in that
directory.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Furthermore query.asp returns:
"No documents matched the query"

Using the catalog "System" in Computer management the same query word,
"chapter", returns five records.

Thanks,
QA4Ever

you need query.htx and you need to define its name and location in your
query.idq file

Looks like it is looking for query.idq at the root of your site.

http://localhost/query.idq

Thank You

Thanks George that's well spotted...
Could you make a wild guess why IIS would return 404 when that query.idq is
in fact located in the root dir?

Tried that it's still failing. Just to make it clear I don't want to search
the
I want to search non-web documents (which apparently is set up correct since
Computer Management searches and fins those files correctly.

Did you ever come up with a solution to this? I am having the exact same
problems.

Is there an %include% directive in your query.htx?

I lost a bunch of hair over this earlier this week. The sample
query.htx %includes% some file from the IISAMPLES folder. But for some
reason the included file didn't exist or was at a different location.
(IIRC IISAMPLES was on a different drive)

This caused a 404 error for the entire .htx file - even though 99% of
the file actually existed and was readable...

Thanks, I actually figured it out this morning. It was because I did not
have the .idq extensions set up in the mapping correctly.
