| Hi,
This conversation carries over from the Frontpage ng. I enclosed what was

I guess I need to tell him how to setup index server to do this. Any
suggestions or links would be helpful.
Thanks,
Kelly
He is going to have to use index server in your environment. If he doesn't
know how to use it, you may wish to try the index server newsgroup.

| Here's the steps (basically, with some assumptions that their stuff is
working properly, installed, etc.) May be different for different OS's,
below is for Windows 2000.
1. Right click on "my computer" go to "manage"
2. Expand to index server.
3. Stop the index server service
4. Right click in the empty space on the right
5. Go to "New"
6. In the wizard, browse to the place you want the catalog file to go, and
the folder where the files are (usually c:\inetpub\wwwroot\sitename or
similar). The catalog can go anywhere, but keep in mind the files will be
open most of the time.
7. In the new Icon, right click, in properties set the "tracking" to the
particular web.
8. Reset the index service
9. Wait while files are indexed
10. Test in the interface to ensure searchability.
Next, in FrontPage, remove and re-insert your search component, save and try
it.
Though... i'd be a little concerned if your hosting company has no clue how
to do this... there are probably lots of other much more important things
they dont know... like securing the thing...
