Hello,

I'm attempting to salvage disc space on a Win2K Server C: partition. I
don't run any websites or services from this box other than Exchange, AD, and
Outlook Web Access. I disabled the indexing service as a test to see if it
would affect any of my server requirements negatively, it doesn't look like
it has. I would like to remove the catalog.wci folder and files, but I'm not
sure if I'm missing anything that it might be tied to. Do I need to run the
Indexing server for a machine hosting Active Directory and Outlook Web
Access?? Any ideas or proper methods for uninstalling the service and
deleting the appropriate directories and files would be much appreciated.
I've read google posts and website to exhaustion on the topic and I'd like to
get some clear direction from this board. Thanks in advance!!

Whack away. Exchange has its own set of catalogs stored in their own
directory. If you ever re-enable indexing services it will recreate the
catalogs it needs.
