We have recently purchased new servers to replace old ones. One of the
old servers was running our Wireless Sync client for all our users
getting their email on Pocket PC's. The new server has the wireless
sync client installed on it but it will only let me add our IT (domain
admin) users email accounts to it. When I try and add our normal
users I get the following error:

Unknown error. (80040605)
R:\Portal\Client\PortalOutlookTranslator
\OutlookOptions.cpp 424
10/11/2005 2:55:40 PM
Error occurred while opening the default MS Outlook folders. Go to
the Sync Settings dialog and press Settings next to Outlook.
Error occurred while preparing for first synchronization
Hive393

I figure this is a problem with permissions. But the outlook profile
that is setup on the server is an admin and can open any mailbox on the
server. So I cant figure out why the wireless sync wont. The only
solution I have found for this is to add the computer name of the
wireless sync server to the permissions of the security tab of the
exchange server. I tried that with no resolution. Can anyone please
help me with this, I have verified that the computer and user logged
onto the wireless sync server have full control permissions.

Thanks

Well for anybody else looking for this solution, I never did find a
solution but I found a workaround. For the initial setup of the user
make the user a member of Domain Admins, once the setup is done remove
them from domain admins.
