I installed the WebLogic8.1 SP1, then created a dimain (acccept all
default values). When starting the domian, the server crashed in the
middle.

Is this really a "bug"? How could it pass WL QA? Did WebLogic QA even
do ONE test before release?

Can u be more specific and report the exception u get while starting the server. Did u set the environment before starting the server?
